This is a used U.S. Marine Corps P-53HBT uniform that was used for 5 years from 1953 to 1958, the last of the P-42 and P-44 series, and shares the same cut as the P-56 cotton uniforms that followed. The Marine Corps is famous for wearing different uniforms from the Army because they develop their own equipment, but this is a utility uniform that has undergone a particularly distinctive evolution. This is a valuable last HBT combat uniform used during a part of the Korean War toward the Vietnam War.
